First Edition. Robert, a French surgeon, is eponymously remembered for “Robert’s pelvis,” a pelvis that is narrowed transversely due to the almost entire absence of the alae of the sacrum. This copy of his medical thesis on aneurysms of the supraclavicular region, inscribed to Philippe Ricord, is bound with the nineteenth edition of Jalade-Lafond’s work describing his medicated truss for the treatment of hernia, first published in French in 1839.
