Bookplate of Raymond L.J. Riling. Raymond "Ray" Riling (1896-1974), who was a Philadelphia builder and arms collector, an important arms book collector, dealer, author and publisher from the 1940s into the 1970s (Academic Dictionary Online). Benjamin Robins (1707-1751), who is considered to be the "18th century founder of scientific ballistics" (Science Direct online), was an English engineer who wrote on Newton's mathematics and invented the ballistic pendulum.
