First Edition. Watt's work is noted for the excellence of its anatomical plates, among the most accurate of the pre-laryngoscopic era. The descriptive text, apart from the plate explanations, is by William (later Sir William) Lawrence, surgeon at St. Bartholomew's Hospital and author of classic works on hernia (G-M 3587) and eye surgery (G-M 5849).
