First Edition. “In four sections, each containing twenty-five subjects, with descriptive text.” “By the introduction of photography [the editors] have been able to reproduce with absolute accuracy the various specimens with which the student ought to be familiar; and by the aid of the stereoscope they have made those illustrations so pronounced, clear, and definite, that the student can now study these stereograms with as much accuracy as if he had the actual preparation in his hands” (Preface).
